Welcome Archive New York to the shop! Let me tell you, these pillows are no joke. Beautifully made, with feather inserts, and the textures are so good. I personally took home the tassel, but I love them all. All inspired by or incorporating vintage Guatemalan textiles. A textile lover after my own heart ūüėČ

In the maker, Amira’s, own words:

Archive New York is a Brooklyn based textile collection founded in 2014 by Amira Marion.

ARCHIVE NEW YORK is devoted to creating a tangible digital collection of vintage and antique fabric remnants. We hunt down the rarest, most unique textiles and transform them into an assemblage of radiantly colorful silk prints.  At ARCHIVE, we treasure rich color palettes and textures and seek to add beauty and eclecticism from distant lands to your home and life.

For the Fall/Winter 2014 Collection, Dream States, we turned to classic Guatemalan woven textiles for our inspiration.

In our second collection: ARCHIVE NY HANDMADE, we worked with the non-profit Maya Traditions and its local weavers in Panajachel, Guatemala, to recreate some of our favorite traditional textiles.

Interior Inspiration: Greece

I’m still dreaming of vacations and this house in Greece from the most recent issue of Lonny is only making it worse. Relaxed and undone.

i call this my seance swing…haha. so hard to get good photos at night but you get the idea. I wanted something moody and holiday-ish without being overt. I love how it turned out.¬† i think it would be great over a dining table in a home too.¬† you could add flowers or branches, anything reflective of the season.

new pillows

Just finished up on a bunch of new pillows for the store. Im really into lots of layered textures for winter…crochet, twill stripes, open weave whites, knit trim, and even a little mini one made from a gold carpet remnant. all handmade and original to the shop and available in custom sizes and colors.

mesquite slab table

Last year when I was working on a clients home I wanted to do a coffee table out of a mesquite slab. So I got the slab locally and had a simple iron base made. It was in its completely natural state when we got the slab so Jeremiah sanded it endlessy until the beautiful grain showed, cleaned up the edges while still maintaining the irregular natural edge. I loved how it turned out so much I had him make one for the store. Each one is different and a little piece of the desert.
